Crete is a very large island (over 8.000 sq. kms), for any prospective purchaser, the hiring of a car is the most effective way to get around, the buses are excellent in the main tourist parts of Crete, but do not always go to some of the more distant villages on a regular basis. Hiring a car enables you, not only to meet the representative for the specific area you are interested in, but to get a better feel for this beautiful island. Upon arriving in Crete and wishing to proceed with property viewing, please contact Ioanna Mathioudaki on (0030 6944 750010 or 0030 2810 360776). She will either arrange the appointments direct with our representatives covering the various areas of Crete, or you can make an appointment with Ioanna to meet her in the office, where you can discuss your requirements. We cover most of Crete and have been offering people advice and assistance when buying their Cretan home since 1992. Those we have not yet seen are inspected on the earliest trip possible. We can introduce you to English speaking architects and lawyers, however as a matter of policy we recommend that our clients obtain alternative quotes from other architects, builders, engineers and lawyers regarding fees and charges. For those who feel more comfortable there are some English builders and carpenters working in Crete, and of course as it is the Common Market you are perfectly free to bring your own workforce to the island. Properties come and go at a remarkable speed so that the list of properties you might receive the first time round is not always indicative of the vast range available over a period of time and it is always advisable to task for a more up to date list about 3 weeks prior to leaving on a viewing trip. The website is updated daily, so checking regularly or signing up for email updates of new arrivals should will keep you informed. Please make appointments to view before you travel to Crete. There are no street names in most villages and somebody must take you individually to show you the properties. We will try to accommodate everyone but it is usually necessary to make an appointment in advance. Property particulars are believed to be correct, but their accuracy cannot be guaranteed and they do not form any part of a contract. We cannot be held responsible for omissions, price changes and withdrawals. Proper legal advice should be taken in all matters. Other agents selling properties in Greece often require the purchaser to pay a further commission on top of the selling price and sometimes do not make this clear at the outset.
