Kritsa is situated in North East Crete 10 km from the nearest beach and 11km from the picturesque town of Agios Nikolaos. It is the largest Byzantine village in Crete with a population of around 2500. It has dramatic views of the coastline and the stunning mountains. The village is full of amenities which make living here very easy. There is a bank, post office, doctor, chemist and even a vet. There are also many local kafeneons. There is a regular bus service into the cosmopolitan town of Agios Nikolaos and wonderful beaches of the area. The village is famous for it's Folk art and weaving. All of these things make it a great place for both a permanent home or holiday retreat.
