A small village of 300 inhabitants in the heart of the famous Lassithi Plateau. Very close to Tzermiado and Agios Georgios. The village has a couple of traditional kafenions. Visitors to the Plateau can experience first hand a lifestyle rich in traditional values and simple living, generosity and kindness, which is so often missing in the coastal areas of Crete. Close by, there is also a horse riding school and a cultural centre called Lassinthos, with various stalls marketing locally produced goods such as ceramics, weaves, woodwork along with a taverna and cafeteria, (where craftsmen can be seen actually working the looms and the potters wheel),kafenions and of course, the obligatory church, named Panagia Evangelistra.
