A short drive along the coast via untracked roads will bring you to the famous Palm Beach at Prevelli. This is definitely for those who love peace and quiet and the isolation of this part of the south coast. From here the tracks wind there way around from beach to beach and are dotted with tavernas serving local fresh fish and traditional Cretan cuisine. It is approximately 3km to the village of Kerames where there is several kafenion and tavernas. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for exploring the area. Kerames is one of just a few traditional villages that nestle into the mountainside along the south coast of Crete between Agia Galini and Plakias. This area is renowned for its stunning beauty, unspoilt coastline and numerous quiet yet picturesque beaches. This whole area is slowly becoming popular for holiday/second homes, especially for those who prefer the more traditional Cretan countryside and a peaceful location close to the beach. 25 minutes to Spili, 2 hours Heraklion/Hania airports.
