Pazinos is a small village with tiny streets on the way to the airport ( 2 km), with a couple of kafenions (one also serves excellent food and sometimes has live cretan music in the summer). The main attraction of the place it the newly restored Byzantine Monastery of Agios Ioannis O Eleimonas, but there are also several interesting stone houses showing details of the Turkish influence on the local architecture. Lately some stylish villas have been built here by Greek people, because the land prices are still rather affordable. About 20 minutes by car to Hania town, or to the beaches of Marathi, Kalathas and Stavros. Irregular bus service.
