Is situated just 8km south of Spili on the road that leads through the mountains to the south coast via Drimiskos and Kerames. It’s a beautiful old village, classically Cretan with a maze of small lanes that meander through the old whitewashed and stone houses. The village is also unusual, in that it has many oak and walnut trees scattered throughout that give shade and coolness during the summer months and bring a sense of tranquillity to the area. A short drive of 10km through the mountains brings you to the quiet and unspoilt area of the south coast that boasts many secluded beaches in a fantastic landscape of dramatic mountains covered in wild herbs that roll gently down to the sea. This is an excellent area for walking and exploring. Spili is just ten minutes by car and has all local amenities including a health centre, bank with ATM and two supermarkets. Rethimno is 25minutes by car and both Hania and Heraklion airports 1½ hours.
