Emerald Green area covers the North part, from Hersonissos and inland to other villages plus few villages in the South East of Crete.

Sissi is one of the places that this area covers. It is set away from the main road in a veritable sea of olive trees. The small fishing village has quiet atmosphere and lots of taverns next by the sea. Malia, Hersonissos and Stalis are all next to each other. Malia is one of the top spots for nightlife to be avoided if that is not what you seek. However Malia Old Town is away from the tourists and retains its Cretan atmosphere and is inhabited by locals. Remarkable history and archaeological sites ranging from the superb Minoan mansion that survived from the Minoan city and the Palace of Malia which is the third largest Minoan Palace of Greece for people interested in the Cretan past. The only full golf course of Crete is situated outside of Hersonissos town. Inland you will find Mohos, Krasi and other traditional villages which have kept the Cretan atmosphere and life style.
